Clubs

Beauty Imperfection Dance Club  is a place to forget all the stress and just dance! We will learn and enjoy the grace of traditional dancing types such as ballet and Chinese dancing. No experience required. Meetings are Fridays after school from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the multipurpose room! Sponsor teacher is Ms. Charette. Follow our Instagram account @beautyimperfectionclub 


Curling Club meets on Thursdays 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. from October 6th to December 15th. $40 Registration. Register in person on a Thursday or go to www.deltathistle.ca and click on Juniors. Sponsor teacher is Mrs. Pugsley.


The Dance Club meets on Wednesday's after school in the cafeteria.  Ms. Serres is the sponsor teacher.


The Seaquam Debate, Public Speaking, and Model UN Club meets every Monday and Friday at lunch in either the multi-purpose room or Mr O's room. The club has about 25 people, and regularly participates in major competitions. Come on out to meet new people, improve your public-speaking skills, and broaden your résumé!


Dream Team is a group of student volunteers that help with various events at Seaquam.  Some volunteer opportunities include Opening Day, Diwali celebrations, Parent Teacher interviews, Course Planning evenings,  Grade 7 tours etc.  If you are interested in getting involved, please see Mrs. Goel-Stevens.


The Seaquam Environment Club Operation Green has evolved to become one of the top student clubs in North America.  Many student members have received awards, scholarships and recognition ranging from local community, business and government organizations, to NGO's and the United Nations.   Club members are encouraged to take action on local/global sustainable initiatives, projects, campaigns and events.

Homework Helpers - Having trouble understanding your math homework? Tutors are available to help. Bring your homework and your questions to room 2009 every Thursday from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Mrs. Pugsley is the sponsor teacher.


The Interact Club will be meeting on Fridays at lunch in Ms. Dhami's room 2141.  Interact supports service in the community, students connect with other young people to help with projects that promote international understanding.


Kendo - sponsor teacher: Mr. Shirran. Meets every Friday from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria.


Japanese Culture Study club meets on day 3 at lunch in room 2007. Ms. Yamazaki is the sponsor teacher.

Peer Mentor - Lunch Crew - sponsor teacher: Ms. Hardman. The Lunch CLub is for grade 8's and 9;s and runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday (at lunch obviously!) in Ms. Hardman's room #1423.  Monday is game day, Wednesday is homework help and Friday is movie day.  Lunch Club starts Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Robotics - sponsor teacher: Mr. Hamade. Robotics club has a set team from September through April.  Try-outs for next year will be in early April.


The Rubik's Cube Club meets every Day 1 at lunch in room 2008. Mr. Wang is the sponsor teacher.


Seaquam Flight (Newspaper) Club meets only intermittently on Fridays at lunch in room 1530. Sponsor teacher is Ms. Janzen


Ski Club - sponsor teacher: Ms. Charette

  • 75 members on a first come first serve basis
  • $480 for 4 trips with rental and $400 without rental.
  • Students must commit to all four trips. There is no refund.
  • Students wishing to join must attend the following three meetings

October 26, at 2:45 p.m. - Info Meeting for students in the library- Forms will be explained and handed out.

Nov. 3, at 7:45 a.m. - Form collection in the Multipurpose Room- First come, first serve basis

Nov. 16 at 2:45 p.m. - Safety Meeting in the library-Compulsory for all club members.

The ski days are Saturdays, and are on the following dates: 

Dec. 10, Jan. 7, Jan. 21, Feb. 4


 

Solutions Society -is Seaquam's humanitarian aid club. We raise funds and awareness for many humanitarian issues both locally and globally through student-led initiatives. We meet Tuesdays at lunch in Mr. Mundy's Room (Room 2129).


Stage Crew runs every Thursday at lunch in the Theatre, as well as other times after school and at lunch which are determined by the group. Students from all grades are welcome, and no experience is necessary. Some of the things we work on together include:

  • set design and set building for this year's production of the musical "Annie"
  • props design and construction
  • costume design
  • lighting and sound technician training
  • prop and costume storage
  • promotions and publicity for "Annie"
  • Front of House duties (FOH)
  • training the Running Crew for the show (stage managers, backstage crew, etc.)
  • general cleaning and maintenance of the theatre space

Student Council meet in either Ms. Mostert's room 2111 or the multipurpose room. They meet on Thursdays.


The Table Tennis club meets Mondays after school in the cafeteria from 3 to 4:30 p.m.  The club usually runs until the end of February. Mr. Wang is the sponsor teacher for this club.
