MUSIC MONDAY – Monday, May 4th @ 7:00pm:

Dear Seaquam Students and Parents/Guardians,

Music Monday is taking place on Monday, May 4th! Our Music Monday Concert is about celebrating music all around Canada and it occurs every year on the first Monday of May. Join our  music department in this special event as we welcome 3 guest ensembles to perform with us- the Delta Concert Band (a wonderful local community band), Pinewood Elementary Band, and Cougar Canyon Elementary Jazz Band.

The concert begins at 7:00pm in the theatre and will feature the following Seaquam ensembles: Concert Choir, Jazz Band, Concert Band, and Wind Ensemble. In this concert, one of our guest bands- Delta Concert Band, will also perform a collaboration piece with our Seaquam Wind Ensemble especially with Music Monday falling on Star Wars Day! Admission is by donation.

We are so proud of this program that has continued to raise awareness of the importance of access to quality, inclusive music education in our schools and in our communities.  Since 2005, more than 6 million Canadians have participated in Music Monday!
Last year, 225 000 participants participated in Music Monday in over 800 locations and our national music education awareness campaign reached 10 million across the country. We invite parents, family, and friends to attend this concert.  Doors will open around 6:30 pm.

SPRING MUSIC CONCERT – Friday, March 6th @7:00pm

Hello Music Students and Parents/Guardians,

On Friday, March 6, the Music Department will be holding the Spring Music Concert!The concert begins at 7:00pm in the theatre and will feature our whole Music program: Concert Band, Jazz Band, Concert Choir, and Wind Ensemble. Lots of fun music will be featured such as Star Trek,  When you Believe from The Prince of Egypt, Uptown Funk, Wizard of Oz, etc.

Admission is by donation. This admission cost will be going towards the Music Program to help fundraise for students to go to festivals, outside of school music performance opportunities, purchasing of instruments, instrument repairs, and music scores for the Music Department.
We invite parents, family, and friends to this special event! Doors will open at 6:30 pm.

CHORAL CELEBRATION NIGHT

On Thursday, February 5th, the Seaquam Music Department will be holding a Choral Celebration Night. This is an exciting night of celebrating choral singing!

The concert will begin at 7:00pm in the theatre and will feature our Seaquam Concert Choir and the Elementary Honour Choir who are students from our Families of Schools (Heath, Pinewood, Sunshine Hills, and Cougar Canyon Elementary schools). We will be having a special collaboration song with both our choirs that night. The singers are very excited to share their singing talents with you.

There are no tickets for admission, however if you’d like to make a donation, it will go towards the Music Program for items such as instrument purchases and repairs, equipment repairs, etc.

We invite parents, family, and friends to join us in this night of singing and music. Doors will open around 6:30-6:45 pm.

Elementary Honour Choir
Starting next Monday, January 13 to Monday, February 3, I will be starting an Elementary Honour Choir for students from our 4 feeder Elementary schools: Heath, Sunshine Hills, Pinewood, and Cougar Canyon. It runs from 3:30-4:30pm. There will be about 70 students.
The Elementary Honour Choir will be performing with our Seaquam Concert Choir on Thursday, February 6 for our Choral Celebration Night in the theatre at 7:00pm.
All parents, students, and our 4 feeder elementary schools should know the timings and information about the Elementary Honour Choir.
