Today’s Black Brilliance info is about Sam Langford, who was born in Nova Scotia. Sam is considered one of the finest heavyweight boxers of all time. He was one of many top Black boxers who was not allowed to fight in world championships because of racial discrimination. He kept boxing anyways, and this led to him being called the “unofficial World Champion of boxing”.

If you are, please join us in room 1416 on Tuesday Feb. 14th or Thursday Feb 16th to get more information about this exciting opportunity! This trip is open to all students currently in grades 9 through 11!

“Hey Seahawks! Do you have any books or textbook that you don’t want anymore or have no place to put them? We have an opportunity for you to donate those books! The books you will sell will then be sold and the money will be sent to Operation Smile which is an organization that makes money to give unfortunate kids the chance to have a surgery for their cleft lip. For now, the book collection will go from the 15th of February to the 23rd! You can find boxes in the library, near the office and in some classrooms starting on the 15th! Make sure to bring your books next week and become a valuable member of society by helping out children.“
