Today’s Black Brilliance info is about Eleanor Collins, who is sometimes called Vancouver’s “First Lady of Jazz”. She was born in Alberta and started winning talent contests when she was 15. She became a professional musician for the CBC when she was 26. Eleanor was the first Canadian music artist to have a show named after her, and the first racialized musician to host a national television series in North America – both groundbreaking achievements in Canadian history. She has won many awards for her contributions to arts and entertainment in Canada.

There will be an information meeting for the parent’s of all students that are interested in going to Italy during spring break of 2024. The meeting will be held through zoom on Thursday March 2nd from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The meeting will be run by the tour company that will be organizing the trip.
