Seaquam’s school goals from 2021-24 school years have had a focus on an Inquiry Model. Our fundamental question is:
“Will a school wide focus on fostering staff and student health and wellness have a positive effect on student well-being, engagement and achievement?”
During the 2024-25 school year, Seaquam is working on creating a 3 year growth plan that focuses on Student Success for the 2025-2028 school years. We have narrowed down the focus to be on Resiliency. Under the umbrella of Resiliency, we are going to focus on topics like: self-regulation/self-discipline; attendance; strategies on how to learn and study; trauma informed lens when working/supporting students; literacy; independence and how to help students deal with stress and anxious moments. The areas that we are looking to address are broad so we will tackle them in a staggered way. We are going to spend the next few months developing a year one plan for September 2025. We will also look to introduce some ideas this spring. The goal of all of this is to focus on students’ social and emotional health and their academic success here at Seaquam. If you have any questions about this Plan, please reach out to me personally. Stay tuned as more information will be coming soon.
