Notice to Grads 2019

If you are planning on attending the Commencement Ceremony, you will need to:

1. Order your gown (you must be wearing a gown to be part of the ceremony) – done through the online form (see below)
2. Write a short comment that will be read as you cross the stage – also online (see below)

We are trying to get as many different grads playing as possible. Please only fill out this form once. Students must be in good standing in order to participate, ie not in trouble with the office, have regular attendance and good relations with staff.

June 20, 2019  – Commencement at South Delta Baptist Church, 1988 56 Street, Delta.

Grad Rehearsal at South Delta Baptist Church at 5:00pm

Doors open at 6:30pm

Commencement starts at 7:00pm

Gown and hat costs are part of the Grad Fee and will be distributed in the first 2 weeks of June. Our graduating students will be able to keep their gowns and hats to allow for more opportunities for families to take photos to commemorate the events.

June 22, 2019  – Grad Dinner and Dance (This is a school sponsored event). Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel downtown (1088 Burrard Street).  The dinner is for Grads only – No parents or other guests. This is a school sponsored event.

Grads arrive at Seaquam at designated times (12:45, 1:15 or 1:45). This information will be made available next week.

Red Carpet Event      1:00 – 2:30pm

Reception                   2:30 – 3:15pm (front parking lot) no charge

Boarding busses       3:30 – 3:45pm (students will go through a security check prior to boarding busses)

Busses depart            3:45pm (stop at Queen Elizabeth Park for photos)

Busses arrive at the Wall Centre at approximately 5:30pm

Dinner starts               6:00pm

Dry Grad busses arrive at 9:30pm

Board Dry Grad busses at 9:45pm

Dry Grad Busses leave at 10:00pm

Dry Grad Committee Ticket Information

Dry Grad (June 22 to 23, 2019) – North Delta Rec Centre – 11415 84 Avenue (approximately 10:30 pm to 4:00 am).

Dry grad tickets are $50.00 

Tickets for Dry Grad will be handed out when you board the bus to dinner on June 22nd .

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT DRY GRAD 2019

What is Dry Grad?

Dry Grad is an event which provides students with a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment to celebrate their graduation. It is a fully supervised fun event, sponsored by the Parents, where the grads can party with their friends, be entertained and participate in a fun-filled, action-packed night of celebration.

When is it?

Grads will be taken from the hotel to the Rec Centre by bus with Grade 11 Parent chaperones and from then on will be the Grad Committees responsibility with help from current Grade 11 parents who will supervise the Dry Grad overnight .

The Dry Grad will begin at 10.30pm and will end at 4am
There are no in and out priviledges at the Dry Grad . We have security organized and parents will be called to collect any Grad who is under the influence of alcohol or anything else . Obviously we trust this will not be necessary.

At the end Grads must be picked up by a parent or another Grads parent. No one will be allowed to leave alone. Again this is to ensure you get home safely.

Who is organizing this event?

PARENTS of the graduating class are the primary organizers however they welcome volunteers from the Grade 11 class as well. There are a number of committees who still need volunteers and there is definitely a job that suits every parent.

  1. Bottle Depot at #102 – 7743 128th Street, Surrey – we have an account set up for Seaquam Dry Grad 2019 . This is an ongoing fundraiser. Mention Seaquam Dry Grad 2019 and ask for a receipt. Email the receipt to seaquam2019drygradtreasurer@gmail.com or drop it off at the school office to be put into the Dry Grad folder.
  2. Pepperoni Cafe at 6388 120th Street, Surrey – they will donate a portion of the sales to DRY GRAD Seaquam, please ask them when you order your food.
  3. Cobs Bread at 7243 120th Street, Surrey – they’ll donate a portion of your purchase to DRY GRAD when you mention Seaquam Dry Grad.
