Grad Tickets for the Dinner & Dance

Grad tickets will be sold during the week of March 2-6 in the textiles room (2133) at lunch. Please take note of the day the grads will be permitted to purchase their tickets, it is done alphabetically. Grads must buy their tickets on their assigned day. The cost of the ticket is $175. This will cover the dinner/dance, reception and transportation to the Sheraton Wall Centre. Grads can pay either by cash or cheque (made payable to Seaquam Secondary). Please Note: No tickets will be sold to any grad that still owes student fees.

March 3 Students with last names E – L
March 5 Students with last names M – R
March 6 Students with last names S – Z

We will also be taking money for grad clothing for any grads that would like to purchase any more grad clothing. Grads must bring a SEPARATE cheque for the clothing order.

Commencement Tickets will also be distributed at this time.

There will be 5 different games that the Grads will compete against the staff.

Indoor Soccer – Lunch – November 5

Floor Hockey – Lunch – February 13
Basketball – Lunch – April 9

Notice to Grads for the Commencement Ceremony 2020

This year’s Commencement Ceremony takes place on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at the South Delta Baptist Church. At this time, you have some important tasks to be aware of and to complete:

1. Order a gown. To participate in the commencement ceremony, and what distinguishes you as a member of the graduating class of 2020, you must be wearing a gown. There is no additional cost to order and should take no more that a minute to complete the form. The deadline to place your order is April 15, 2020. 2. Write a short comment for when you cross the stage. As you are introduced as a member of this graduating class and cross the stage, it is customary to have a short statement read out about you. Since a teacher will be reading this, write in the third person (you’re not saying “I would like to …”). You might want to thank those people who have supported you in your high school journey, share you post secondary plans and goals, write an inspirational statement, or whatever you deem appropriate. 3. Tickets for this event have not yet been distributed but will be soon. Each family will be eligible for two complimentary tickets provided they are picked up before May 14, 2020. Starting May 19, 2020, up to two additional tickets per family can be purchased for $5 each. All tickets will be sold on a first-come basis. If any tickets remain on or after June 1, 2020, families will have an opportunity to purchase yet another two tickets. To avoid disappointment, pay attention for pick up information when tickets become available, as the past three grad ceremonies have sold out quickly.

Commencement starts at 7:00pm

June 13, 2020  – Grad Dinner and Dance (This is a school sponsored event). 

 

Dry Grad

Dry Grad – June 13, 2020 – North Delta Rec Centre – 11415 84 Avenue (approximately 10:30 pm to 4:00 am). Tickets purchased prior to December 15 – $30. After this time, they will be $40. Tickets will not be sold at the door.


Grad Showcase

The 2020 Grad Showcase is on February 27, 2020 at 7pm in the Seaquam Theatre. Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets: $15 on sale at lunch time outside the cafeteria from Februray 12 -27, or by e-transfer to seaquamgrad2020@gmail.com

Join us for a fun-filled night of entertainment – skits, music, fashion show, prizes and more! All proceed go to the 2020 Dry Grad Celebration.


 

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT DRY GRAD 2020

What is Dry Grad?

Dry Grad is an event which provides students with a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment to celebrate their graduation. It is a fully supervised fun event, sponsored by the Parents, where the grads can party with their friends, be entertained and participate in a fun-filled, action-packed night of celebration.

When is it?

Grads will be taken from the hotel to the Rec Centre by bus with Grade 11 Parent chaperones and from then on will be the Grad Committees responsibility with help from current Grade 11 parents who will supervise the Dry Grad overnight .

The Dry Grad will begin at 10.30pm and will end at 4am
There are no in and out priviledges at the Dry Grad . We have security organized and parents will be called to collect any Grad who is under the influence of alcohol or anything else . Obviously we trust this will not be necessary.

At the end Grads must be picked up by a parent or another Grads parent. No one will be allowed to leave alone. Again this is to ensure you get home safely.

Who is organizing this event?

PARENTS of the graduating class are the primary organizers however they welcome volunteers from the Grade 11 class as well. There are a number of committees who still need volunteers and there is definitely a job that suits every parent.

SEAQUAM DRY GRAD 2019 ONGOING FUNDRAISING EVENTS

Other Events or opportunities

  1. Bottle Depot at #102 – 7743 128th Street, Surrey. This is an ongoing fundraiser. Place empties in clear bag (clear or blue) and go to the  kiosk machine. Use the school’s telephone number (604-591-6166) to login and print labels. One label per bag and then leave the bags in the drop area. Return-It will sort and credit our account.
  2. Pepperoni Cafe at 6388 120th Street, Surrey – they will donate 20% of the profit made on sales to DRY GRAD Seaquam – THURSDAYS ONLY, please let them know when ordering your food so they can apply it to our fundraising.
  3. Cobs Bread at 7243 120th Street, Surrey – they’ll donate a portion of your purchase to DRY GRAD when you mention Seaquam Dry Grad.
