Grads:

With just 12 weeks remaining, this is an exciting time filled with anticipation, celebration, and
important milestones for the Class of 2026. While the energy of the season is high, it’s also a
time when staying vigilant, focused, and consistent matters most. We encourage all students to
continue checking in with their teachers, completing outstanding assignments, and showing
up to class ready to learn. These habits will ensure that every student finishes the year strong
and remains on track for graduation.
Final term is full of memorable moments, but it is also a period where commitment and
follow-through make a significant difference. By staying organized, communicating with staff,
and keeping academic goals in sight, students can set themselves up for a successful and
confident end to their Grade 12 year.
We are proud of the hard work our grads have shown so far, and we look forward to supporting
them as they move toward the finish line. Let’s make these last week’s meaningful, productive,
and full of positive momentum.

What is Dry Grad?

Dry Grad is an event which provides students with a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment to celebrate their graduation. It is a fully supervised fun event, sponsored by the Parents, where the grads can party with their friends, be entertained and participate in a fun-filled, action-packed night of celebration.

When is it?

Grads will be taken from the hotel to the Rec Centre by bus with Grade 11 Parent chaperones and from then on will be the Grad Committees responsibility with help from current Grade 11 parents who will supervise the Dry Grad overnight .

The Dry Grad willbe on June 13, 2026 and will begin at 10.30pm and will end at 4am ( times to be confirmed )
There are no in and out privileges at the Dry Grad . We have security organized and parents will be called to collect any Grad who is under the influence of alcohol or anything else . Obviously we trust this will not be necessary.

At the end Grads must be picked up by a parent or another Grads parent. No one will be allowed to leave alone. Again this is to ensure you get home safely.

Who is organizing this event?

PARENTS/FAMILIES of the graduating class are the primary organizers however they welcome volunteers from the Grade 11 class as well. There are a number of committees who still need volunteers and there is definitely a job that suits every parent.

Grad Code of Conduct

SE Grad Code of Conduct Signature Form Sept 2025

As we enter the final three months of Grade 12, we expect our students to finish the year as strong leaders and positive role models for Grades 8–11. This means upholding the CARES Code of Conduct, attending classes regularly, and maintaining respectful relationships with staff.
All school-organized and school-sponsored grad events must remain 100% Substance Free This protects the safety of students and the volunteer staff who give their time to supervise. Students are expected to behave appropriately, dress suitably, and always use good judgement during these events. As a reminder, all students must complete the GRAD Student Code of Conduct on PARENT CONNECT. Please make sure that it is completed so students can attend events.
We want to be very clear: Pranks of any kind are not allowed. Any activity, on or off school property, that risks safety, damages property, disrupts learning, or harms Seaquam’s reputation will result in consequences, including removal from upcoming grad events. Additionally, the school does not support or endorse any unsanctioned student-planned “Grad Activities,” such as ski/snowboard trips, camping trips, S-Trip events, or “Grad Skip Day.” These events are unsupervised, interfere with learning, and are not connected to Seaquam Secondary. Our goal is to ensure the last three months of high school are safe, positive, and memorable for everyone.

VALEDICTORIAN 2026:

Each year, the Grad class selects a Valedictorian (a student who will represent the entire
graduating class by delivering a speech at the Commencement Ceremony in front of grads, families,
and staff). This is a meaningful honour and a wonderful opportunity for a student to share their
voice, celebrate the journey of the Class of 2026, and inspire their peers as they step into their
next chapter. An application form will be sent to each grad’s @deltalearns email in the beginning
of May. The form includes all details about the process. Applicants will need teacher sponsors, and
all submissions will go through a vetting process before grads vote for the class Valedictorian.
We encourage students who feel passionate about representing their class, whether through
storytelling, humour, reflection, or inspiration, to consider applying. It’s an exciting chance to
help shape a memorable moment for your entire grad class.
