2024-2025 Student Fees Collection Process
The collection of Student fees will begin the first week of October, with fees being available for viewing and payment on Parent Connect (see instructions link below). Please log on to Parent Connect to make your student fee payment. If online payment is not an option for your family, payment can be made at the office by cheque, debit or credit before & after school. Accessing Student Fees through Parent Connect
In accordance with the Ministry of Education guidelines, fees will be charged in certain courses for various activities and/or materials as outlined below:
Student Activity Fees: all students will be required to pay the Student Activity fee which covers the cost of the Seaquam School App, Go Cards, Student Council and Guest Speakers.
Emergency Prep Supplies covers: As previously communicated to families in the spring (view the letter here: https://district.public.deltasd.bc.ca/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2024/05/Emergency-Preparedness-Letter-May-2024.pdf,the district is introducing a new annual Emergency Preparedness Fee of $10 per student. This is to cover the maintenance and replenishment of emergency provisions, including food, water and first aid items, to help care for students in case of a large-scale incident such as an earthquake. Please pay this $10 fee on Parent Connect or in person by debit or credit. If your family requires financial support in relation to this fee, please contact the school office. Discretion will be maintained
Yearbook: **Optional purchase. All students are assessed the Yearbook fee; however, the purchase of a Yearbook is optional. Yearbook sales will close in February and the option to purchase will be removed from Parent Connect allowing us to get a final number for ordering. After this date, students can be placed on a waitlist and will be contacted in September 2024, if additional Yearbooks are available.
Workbook Deposits: In some courses students will be offered the option of purchasing a supplemental student workbook. The deposit will be reversed for all workbooks returned unmarked.ad Fee:
Grad Fee: Grade 12 students will be required to pay a Graduation Fee to help cover some of the costs associated with the purchase of caps, tassels, gowns, and facility rentals for graduation events.
Dance Instructor fee: All students in PE are required to pay the Dance instructor fee. This fee covers the cost of the instructors brought in to teach our dance unit.
Technical Education: No fees will be charged for any projects in Grade 8, however, in Grades 9 – 12 students will be charged the cost of materials for any take home projects.
Music Activity Fee: Students in music will be required to pay a music fee. The fee covers entrance & transportation for elementary concerts, festivals and off-site concert, as well as TTOC costs for the music teacher while away at these events.
Women’s PE: Students registered in Women’s PE will be charged for the various guest instructors and field trips attended in the course.
Basketball Course: students registered in the Basketball course will be assessed a fee for various guest instructors, trainers and nutritionists. There is an additional cost for students that order a basketball.
Robotics: Students registered in Robotics 9 will be charged a fee for supplies. Students registered in our Senior Robotics Program (10 – 12) will be charged a fee which covers season registration, local tournaments, and basic supplies for building robots. There is an additional charge for team uniforms which varies based on any clothing team members may have purchased in the past. Additional costs may be incurred on a per-team basis for specialized parts and extra tournaments. For students who qualify for the “VEX Robotics World Championship” held out of country the cost of the trip is the responsibility of the family.
